Yiorkio was built in 1997 and was one of the most emblematic buildings of the capital comprising the Yiorkio Residence and the Yiorkio Market—the largest shopping centre at that time.

Upon its completion, it became famous not only for its size and luxury but also for the ecological interventions and the developments it offered in shaping the Pedieos River area.
The building consisted of small units with ultra-luxurious suites that looked more like small houses. The purpose was to offer the best and the most exquisite service to his visitors. The products sold in Yiorkio Market were chosen very carefully and with very strict criteria.

Situated in the heart of the capital on the banks of Pedieos River, the well-known luxury building had been deserted for years. Since 2008, the North tower of the building, the Yiorkio Market, has been used by the Ministry of Health. The South tower has been abandoned since 2001; all of its rooms and public spaces have been vandalised and left to decay over the years.

In 2022, the building was sold to Akelius Group who have assigned our company as the Project Managers (PM) of the project. The intention of the Client is to investigate different development potentials of the building with a view to maximizing the expected return, a process which has already commenced with the involvement of the PM and the provision of valuable technical and commercial input.

In summary, as part of our role, we shall provide a full range of Project Management services for the Early Inception, the Design including permitting, the Tender actions and the Construction supervision for the different phases as applicable.

At present, in the context of the early works of the planned renovation works of the South Tower, we have prepared and issued the specifications and RFP for the execution of the necessary demolition works and will manage the entire tender procedure from the selection of the contractor through the supervision activities all through the performance and completion of the demolitions. Subsequently, the respective actions for carrying out the waterproofing and seismic repairs of the building will follow.
